A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped at the Autumn half term lunch club! We fed 126 visitors, including 74 children aged 12 or under.

Here are the statistics of how many people we served at the last lunch club.

What is the Lunch Club?

School holidays can be a tough time for families on a tight budget, especially if they rely on free school meals during term time.

The lunch club offers free nutritious, cooked meals for families with young children (up to age 12).

WHEN?

Depending on funding, we plan to run lunch clubs during all school holidays. Check our website or phone us for confirmation on precise dates - 02072542464

WHERE?

Florence Bennett Centre  N1 6TL

Monday to Friday

12 noon to 2 pm

After a yummy meal, mum or dad can relax while the children play in the play corner, courtesy of Ivy Street Family Centre who have kindly agreed to let us use their toys over the holidays.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING YOUR SUPPORT?

We are keen for volunteers to help out too!  We need your help to make the lunch club a welcoming space: greeting guests, taking their orders, serving food, washing up, tidying away, and preparing the tables for the next day.

If you are interested in helping out between 11am and 3pm (or shorter slots if preferred), please contact Melanie at info@hackney.foodbank.org.uk.

We are grateful to Hackney Council for financially supporting this initiative.
