  • AFRICAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL

    Runs a range of affordable, sometimes free, accredited educational and training programmes, plus a summer school and a Saturday school. Aimed at 5-16-year-olds, adults and families.

    Programmes include revision classes, tuition, youth programmes, parenting classes, sport and cultural activities.

  • GROWING MINDS

    Support to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage children. and young people (aged 9-25) and their families. You can self-refer or be referred by CAMHS, Children and Adult Social Care, a GP, education providers or a voluntary or community organisation. The website has a range of online videos on issues such as moving to secondary school, and managing anxiety and emotions.  Offers three different services: Off Centre (counselling and art therapy); Non-violent resistance, aka Tools for the Teenage Years, (for parents whose children (aged 9-18) may be experiencing emotional wellbeing or behavioural challenges at home or at school); and Tree of Life in schools (to give space to young people to believe in their own abilities, acknowledge their dreams and talk about difficult experiences in a safe environment).

    Help for Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls who are living in the UK. They can speak Farsi, Kurdish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, and Turkish and give confidential advice on issues including domestic violence, ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage, child marriage, female genital mutilation, separation and divorce, child custody, housing and benefits.
