Give Help

Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

We are not currently looking for new warehouse or centre volunteers but if you would like to be added to our mailing list for one-off events or be considered when we next look to recruit more volunteers please do let us know by emailing volunteers@hackney.foodbank.org.uk with ‘Ad-hoc mailing list’ in the subject line.

 Volunteer Drivers Needed Now!

Every day we need to get food from our warehouse to our four foodbank centres. We need lots of help to do this. In particular we need people with their own vehicles who can come and collect the food orders and drive the orders to the foodbank centres. We are currently recruiting drivers for  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and one Saturday per month. If you have a clean driving record, are physically able to lift crates weighing up to 16kg and able to help for a couple hours a week, please let us know!  Fill in our volunteer application form here!
