We offer a wide variety of roles and you do not need to have any specific skills to volunteer, so there is scope for everyone to contribute.
Volunteers will be required to commit to a minimum of one 3-hour shift per week for 3 months.
Please see below for current roles Hackney Foodbank has available and see what suits you:
Warehouse – Come & help us sort goods in our warehouse, break down tea bags, sugar etc or pack emergency food and toiletry parcels. There are a variety of roles available. Any weekday Monday to Friday 8.30am-11.30am or 12pm-3pm.
Drivers – Are you available to drive our Luton van on any weekday 10am-1pm around Hackney? Duties include delivering emergency food parcels to our distribution centres and picking up donations from supermarkets and our storage facility. You must have a clean driving licence and experience of driving a Luton van.
Wednesday Evening Van Driver – Are you an experienced Luton driver who is available 3pm-7.30pm on Wednesdays? The role includes picking up the loaded van from our warehouse, driving it to Leaside and returning once the centre has finished.
Distribution Centre Helper – We currently have vacancies in our Monday centre, 10.15am-1pm, Tuesday centre 10.30am-1pm or Wednesday centre 4pm-7pm. Would you like to come and chat to the people we’re supporting and distribute food parcels? The role is a minimum of one 3-hour shift per week for 3 months.
