What’s in a food parcel?

Our foodbank provides three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food.

The Trussell Trust has worked with nutritionists to ensure food parcels contains sufficient nutrition for at least three days worth of healthy, balanced meals for individuals and families.

A typical food parcel includes:

  • Breakfast cereal
  • Milk
  • Juice
  • Soup
  • Peanut butter, jam, or honey
  • Pasta or rice
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned beans
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned fish
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tea or coffee
  • Sugar
  • Biscuits
  • Snacks
  • Toilet roll
  • Clothes washing tabs or powder

Dietary requirements

Our foodbank can currently offer a vegetarian option for your parcel – if you require this please let the team know when you redeem your voucher.

Baby items

For parents with babies, we can provide nappies and baby wipes.  However, in line with the guidance issued by UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (May 2019), we do not give out infant formula for babies.

Additional items

When you redeem your foodbank voucher and pick up your parcel, you can request additional items including:

  • toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant)
  • sanitary products
  • pet food

Please note that stock of these items are limited and may run out during the foodbank session.
