On Wednesday 29 June, Hackney foodbank will be holding a very special fundraising event. We’d like you to come.
Since opening almost four years ago we’ve helped nearly ten thousand people in crisis, distributing over 70 tonnes of food to ensure that people in the borough on low income or affected by a life shock like a bereavement or breakdown don’t go hungry. Stories like Robert’s below show how quickly a shock can turn into a serious crisis. Each week in the lead-up to our event we’ll share more of it.
You can help us help people like Robert and raise the funds to keep up with demand and a potentially expensive relocation in the autumn.
That’s why this event is so important. Hosted by comedian Holly Burn, we’ll be holding a night of live music from Kerry Yong, We Used to Make Things and Smith and the Honey Badgers, and an art auction with work from well-respected local artists up for grabs. Additionally, we will be offering an auction of homeware and experiences, with donations from luxury brands such as House of Hackney and Pullman Hotels. It will also be an opportunity for people wishing to support foodbank with a small donation, in the form of tickets for the event or raffle tickets for prizes such as champagne or artisan crockery. All proceeds will go to help keep the foodbanks’ doors open.
Your ticket will provide entry to the event, including a complementary drink courtesy of Borough Wines and canapes courtesy of Tesco. You can also elect to purchase raffle tickets in advance at a discounted rate.
Tickets purchased online are £10. Tickets will be available at the door for £12.
Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at £8 per strip of 5. Raffle tickets will be available at the event for £3 each or £10 for a strip of 5.
The event will be held at the historic St. Sepulchre’s Church on Holborn Viaduct from 6:30-9:30pm
Many thanks to everyone who has supported us with in-kind donations for the event, including:
